AVIATION LUBRICATION • RELIABILITY BASELINE

Few Applications Ask More of a Lubricant's Consistency Than Aviation.

An aircraft engine or component doesn't get a second attempt if a lubricant underperforms mid-flight — the reliability bar for aviation lubrication isn't a preference, it's a baseline requirement that shapes every stage of formulation, testing, and manufacturing.

Petro-SYN aviation oils are developed with that uncompromising reliability standard as the starting point, not an aspiration layered on afterward.

EXTREME OPERATING WINDOW

Performance Across Extreme Temperature and Altitude Ranges

Aircraft components experience some of the widest operating temperature ranges of any application — extreme cold at high altitude, intense heat during ground operation and takeoff, and rapid transitions between the two during a single flight cycle.

An aviation oil needs to maintain appropriate viscosity and film strength across this full range, flowing adequately in cold conditions while still protecting components under the heat and load of takeoff and climb.

We formulate our aviation oils to hold their protective characteristics across this demanding temperature and altitude range, rather than optimizing narrowly for one operating condition.

Batch consistency
01
BATCH CONSISTENCY

Batch-to-Batch Consistency as a Non-Negotiable Standard

In most industries, minor batch-to-batch variation in a lubricant is an inconvenience. In aviation, it's not acceptable at any level — every batch needs to perform identically to the one tested and approved before it, because aviation maintenance and airworthiness standards depend on that predictability.

We treat manufacturing consistency for aviation oils as an absolute requirement rather than a target to approach, reflecting the fact that variation itself is a risk in this application, regardless of which direction it runs.

Oxidation
02
THERMAL STABILITY

Oxidation and Thermal Stability

Aircraft engines and hydraulic systems often operate at high temperatures for sustained periods, and an aviation oil that oxidizes or breaks down under that thermal stress risks losing viscosity control, forming deposits, or degrading the protective film components depend on.

Our aviation oils are formulated with strong oxidation resistance and thermal stability, designed to maintain consistent performance characteristics across extended operating periods and repeated high-temperature exposure.

Precision components
03
PRECISION PROTECTION

Protecting Precision Components

Aviation components — bearings, gear systems, hydraulic actuators — are manufactured to extremely tight tolerances, and the lubricants protecting them need to match that precision.

Contamination, deposit formation, or inconsistent film strength can compromise the fine tolerances these components depend on to function correctly. We formulate our aviation oils with cleanliness and consistency as core priorities, supporting the precision engineering aviation components are built around rather than treating lubrication as a secondary consideration.

Corrosion Protection in Variable Environments

Aircraft operate across a wide range of climates and humidity conditions, from coastal airports with salt-air exposure to high-altitude routes with extreme cold, and components need corrosion protection that holds up across all of them.

Our aviation oils include corrosion-inhibiting additive systems formulated to protect engine and mechanical components regardless of the specific climate or route conditions an aircraft operates in.

STANDARDS CONFORMANCE

Standards Conformance

We formulate our lubricants, including our aviation products, to conform to IS (Indian Standards) and applicable global specifications, using both indigenous and imported raw materials selected for consistency and quality.

That standards-conformance approach applies across our manufacturing process broadly, and for aviation-specific applications, we work with customers to confirm the exact specification a given engine or component requires before a product is deployed, given how much variation exists across different aircraft types, engine manufacturers, and operating environments.

TESTING AND VERIFICATION

Testing and Verification

Aviation lubricant performance can't be assumed from formulation alone — it needs to be verified through testing that reflects the actual conditions the product will face in service.

We build testing and verification into our aviation oil development and production process, checking viscosity behavior, oxidation resistance, and film strength characteristics against the demanding standards this application requires, rather than relying solely on formulation theory to predict real-world performance.

APPLICATIONS

Applications

Petro-SYN aviation oils serve aircraft engine and mechanical component lubrication needs where the reliability, thermal stability, and manufacturing consistency the aviation sector demands are non-negotiable requirements.

Safety Note: Given the safety-critical nature of aviation applications, any use of our aviation oils should be confirmed against the specific engine or component manufacturer's approved specifications and any applicable regulatory requirements before deployment.

STORAGE, HANDLING, AND TRACEABILITY

Storage, Handling, and Traceability

Reliability in aviation lubrication doesn't end when a product leaves our facility — how it's stored, handled, and tracked before use matters just as much as the formulation itself.

Contamination introduced during storage or transfer can compromise even a well-formulated aviation oil, and traceability back to a specific production batch is often a regulatory or airworthiness requirement in its own right.

We package and document our aviation oils with that downstream handling and traceability in mind, so customers can maintain the chain of accountability aviation maintenance records typically require.

A Different Standard of Formulation

We approach aviation oil formulation with the understanding that this sector doesn't tolerate the kind of incremental performance trade-offs that might be acceptable elsewhere.

Reliability, consistency, and precision aren't marketing language in this context — they're the specific engineering standard every batch is measured against before it leaves our facility.
